Hope In Action supports low-income and working-class families through funeral assistance, grief resources, and youth empowerment programs. Because no family should face their darkest moment alone.
"To be a source of hope when families need it most."
Donate TodayGrowing up in Africa, our founder witnessed many sudden and unexpected deaths — healthy people leaving home and never returning. In April 2026, tragedy became personal when her brother, 39 years old and days away from graduating as a Denver Sheriff, passed away without warning.
Navigating grief while scrambling for funeral funds revealed a painful truth: countless families face the same impossible choice. Hope In Action was born so no family ever has to walk that road alone.

Born in Monrovia, Liberia. Raised by faith. Called by God to bring hope, dignity, and compassion to families walking through life's hardest seasons.
My name is Rose Mulbah, and I am the Founder and President of Hope In Action. I was born in Monrovia, Liberia, and although I came to the United States at a very young age, Liberia will always be a part of my story and my identity.
“That experience taught me the value of hope, perseverance, and the importance of family.”Rose Youngor Mulbah
When I was a child, my parents made the difficult decision to move to the United States in search of better opportunities for our family. My siblings and I remained in Liberia for five years before we were reunited with them in America. That experience taught me the value of hope, perseverance, and the importance of family.
After arriving in the United States, I attended East Middle School, Horizon Community Middle School, and Smoky Hill High School. I later continued my education at Arizona College of Nursing, where I developed an even deeper desire to dedicate my life to serving others.
Without Him, I am nothing. My life is a testimony of His faithfulness.
Above all else, I am a follower of Jesus Christ. My faith is the foundation of everything I do. I firmly believe that every blessing, every opportunity, every idea, and every accomplishment in my life is a result of God's grace. Without Him, I am nothing. My life is a testimony of His faithfulness, and I strive to honor Him in everything I do.
The vision for Hope In Action was born during my quiet time with God. As I spent time in prayer, worship, and meditation, the Lord began placing a burden on my heart to make a difference in the lives of people who are hurting. What began as a simple thought soon became a vision. I continually prayed over that vision, asking God to direct every step, every decision, and every purpose for this organization.
For a while, Hope In Action remained just that—a dream.
Then, in April 2026, my family experienced one of the most painful moments of our lives when my brother passed away. As we walked through grief, financial stress, and the overwhelming responsibilities that come with losing a loved one, something changed within me.
In the middle of my own heartbreak, God reminded me of the vision He had already placed in my heart. It became clear that no family should have to carry the burden of grief while also worrying about how they will afford funeral expenses or navigate difficult circumstances alone. That painful season transformed Hope In Action from an idea into a mission.
In the middle of my own heartbreak, God reminded me of the vision He had already placed in my heart.
Today, Hope In Action exists to be exactly what its name represents—hope in action. Our mission is to walk alongside individuals and families during some of life's most difficult moments by providing compassionate support, practical resources, and assistance when it is needed most. Whether helping families facing unexpected loss, connecting people with community resources, or extending a helping hand during times of hardship, we are committed to serving with dignity, compassion, and love.
Helping others has always been one of my greatest passions. There is no greater joy than knowing God can use me as His vessel to bring comfort, encouragement, and hope to someone in need. Every family we serve reminds me why this mission matters.
Hope In Action is more than a nonprofit organization to me—it is my heart. It is a calling. It is a ministry of compassion rooted in faith and inspired by God's love for His people.
As Hope In Action continues to grow, my prayer is that every person who comes to us will know they are not alone. I want every family to find not only assistance, but also encouragement, dignity, and hope during life's most difficult seasons.
Thank you for taking the time to learn my story. I am honored that God has entrusted me with this mission, and I look forward to serving our community with faith, compassion, and love for many years to come.
